Recognition for our sustainability leadership

We’ve made the Australian Financial Review's Sustainability Leaders List for 2022.

The list – compiled in association with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) – acknowledges organizations that are making real progress in tackling sustainability challenges, while delivering business value.

“Being recognized on this list is a testament to our journey. In 2020, we refreshed our company purpose and are continuing our strategic transformation which is anchored in sustainability,” says Sue Brown, Executive Group Director Sustainability at Worley.

“We’re helping to address the global sustainability challenges the world is facing, by working with our energy, chemicals and resources customers to reduce the CO2 intensity of their operations and meet their sustainability goals. Our position on this list reflects that we take this responsibility seriously.”

Low-carbon future collaboration

As the decade of action unfolds, we aspire to derive 75 percent of aggregated revenue from sustainability-related work by the end of FY2026.* And we aim to achieve net-zero scope 1 and scope 2 CO2 emissions by 2030 and eliminate scope 3 emissions by mid-century.

We’ve also committed AUD100 million to expand our sustainability offerings over the next five years. This will help grow the skillsets of our people and deliver a greater range of low-carbon solutions for our customers.

Our focus is on collaborating, to get the best outcomes. So, we’ve formed partnerships with other organizations and businesses that are committed to scaling up low-carbon solutions.

“Our customers operate in energy-intensive sectors, where it’s particularly difficult to reduce CO2 emissions,” says Brown. “But their products are indispensable for building low-carbon infrastructure and improving global living standards. Our role is to help them find solutions to operate more sustainably and to share these solutions across our industry to have the greatest decarbonization impacts at scale.

“Together, we’re working to avert the worst impacts of climate change and ensure a livable planet for generations to come.”
