Worley announces the upcoming retirement of General Counsel Larry Kalban, marking the end of an era spanning nearly four decades.
Larry’s time with Worley began in 1986 when he joined Gilbert Associates in Reading, Pennsylvania. Following Gilbert’s sale of its power engineering business to Parsons in 1995, Larry became General Counsel for Parsons’ power division. In 1998, he moved to Houston as Parsons formed the Parsons Energy & Chemicals Group, playing a pivotal role in the merger with Worley in 2004.
Throughout his tenure, Larry has been a cornerstone of the company’s legal leadership. His extensive knowledge of the industry and his strategic counsel have been instrumental in navigating legal complexities and supporting the company’s growth.
Reflecting on his time with the company, Larry says, “I came to work for Worley intending to stay for three years, almost 40 years ago now. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’ve been fortunate to have been able to contribute to the evolution of Worley from a relatively small engineering firm to the global leader in our industry along the way. The opportunity to work with so many amazing people and, more importantly, to form lifelong friendships with so many people along the way, has been fantastic.”
Larry’s legacy extends beyond his legal expertise, as he exemplifies Worley’s value of Stronger Together, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. His influence will continue through the team of legal professionals he has mentored, who are committed to maintaining the high standards he set.
Larry’s last day as General Counsel will be June 30 and he will continue to support the transition and provide his expertise on projects through FY26.
Welcoming Sabrina Gilman as new General Counsel
As Worley prepares to bid farewell to Larry, the company is pleased to announce that Sabrina Gilman will join as the new General Counsel on March 10. Sabrina comes to Worley from Emerson, where she served as Vice President and General Counsel. With 15 years of extensive in-house legal experience, Sabrina brings a wealth of knowledge in commercial issues, corporate governance, M&A, regulatory compliance, litigation, and employment law.
Sabrina is a board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area. Her leadership style and values resonate with Worley’s culture.
