Partnering with Power2X for the eFuels Rotterdam Project
We've solidified our partnership with leading green molecules company Power2X, having been contracted to provide engineering and project management services for their eFuels Rotterdam project.
A landmark facility for sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) and ultra-low carbon fuel production in Rotterdam, Netherlands, it’s expected to contribute significantly to the aviation industry’s decarbonization efforts in Europe.
This world scale production facility will have the capacity to produce over 250,000 tonnes per year of e-SAF, a non-fossil, synthetic fuel made from green hydrogen. Utilizing imported green methanol produced from green hydrogen and biogenic carbon as feedstock, the hub will be a key driver for e-SAF production in Europe.
Leveraging our expertise in engineering and project management, we’re providing early engineering services, including a Class III estimate for preliminary design. Our experts will collaborate closely on the optimal execution approach for the FEED and Execute phases. By applying proven technical knowledge and industry-leading practices, we aim to mitigate technical risks, ensure CAPEX certainty, and establish a robust project schedule—setting the foundation for a successful, long-term project.
The eFuels Rotterdam hub is set to play a key role in meeting the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation, which mandates increased use of SAF, including e-SAF, from 2030 onwards. Once operational, the hub will contribute 40 percent of Europe’s e-SAF volume.
